Course 07

Workplace Survival

Protect yourself. Work without destroying your health.

What this course is for

Workplaces are built for neurotypical norms: open-plan offices, constant availability, unwritten rules, vague verbal instructions. For ND adults, this is not inconvenient - it is actively draining.

For autistic/ADHD/ND adults who leave work fried and one step from burnout. You will map your stressors, identify realistic accommodations, and build actual boundaries around time, tasks, sensory load, and communication.

What you will work through

  • Energy map of your work week - what drains, what helps
  • Reasonable accommodations for autism/ADHD (formal and informal)
  • Micro-tweaks and self-managed adjustments that don't need HR
  • Personal Boundaries Charter - hours, overtime, messaging limits
  • Communication templates for emails, chats and meetings
  • Sensory and focus management at your specific job
  • Saying no and pushing back - power-dynamic-aware scripts
  • Your Workplace Survival and Boundaries Plan

Pacing and emotional load

No legal advice, no toxic positivity, no pretending the system is fair. The autism tax and power dynamics are acknowledged. Harm-reduction is a valid goal.

Emotional load: Medium - practical focus. Toxic environments handled with covert harm-reduction framing, not naive pushback scripts.
